School Centre Velenje is one of the largest Vocational Education and Training centres in Slovenia with long tradition and with 2474 students on initial and continuous secondary as well as on higher level of education, serving by 205 teachers, trainers and other staff.
It consists of School of Machinery, Geotechnics and Environment, School of Electrical Engineering and Computing, School for Service Activities, Gymnasium, Higher Professional School and Inter-company Training Centre. In school year 2018/2019 educational work is carried out in 26 secondary and upper-secondary educational programs and in 6 higher professional educational programs.
Modern role of staff and teachers as professionals, innovators, project managers, mentors, colleagues with experience in usage of ICT, lifelong learning concept, and adult education reflects the integration of the School Centre Velenje in the priorities of the regional and local development. Special focus is on partnership cooperation with local and regional economy as well as on cooperation with companies in national and European context. According to the challenges of actual time School Centre Velenje tries to provide quality educational services and to carry out education on responsible way to all participants of education. In addition to regular education, School Centre Velenje also provide a wide range of functional education and qualifications that are adapted to the needs of the labor market and the local economy. Good professional work, teamwork, modern facilities, experience in working in domestic and international projects, make School Centre Velenje recognizable and are references to achieve goals, also with learning by doing from good practices and case studies. School Centre Velenje is proud of the innovative development in the field of 3-D modeling and printing, intelligent installations, the rental of electric bikes, video surveillance and intelligent systems for card doors opening.
