ZSE is one of the largest vocational training institutions in the region. The Complex consists of the Technical Secondary School and Vocational School, in which 703 students are educated and 108 teachers work. The school educates in the fields of: nutrition technician and gastronomy services, hotel industry, IT section, commerce, tourism, economy, cooking, confectionery and sale.This year, it has started a new field: advertising techniques. The school organizes gastronomic workshops with employers and famous chefs, e.g. Robert Sowa or Kurt Scheller. The school organized patronage classes in cooperation with local entrepreneurs.
ZSE has been raising EU funds in the area of student and staff mobility for several years. Students took part in international internships under the LdV, Erasmus + and PO WER programs. As part of EU programs, teachers took part in training on teaching vocational language using the CLIL method in Spain. Vocational English teachers organized a study visit at our school. ZSE was a host institution for students of the Technical Secondary School of Information Technology from Latvia. Students from Latvia participated in IT and English classes together with students of ZSE. Despite the above actions taken at the level of obtaining funds for the organization of foreign internships and various forms of exchange of professional experience of staff, there is still a great need to deepen European cooperation activities. The school, through participation in European projects, provides students and teachers with the best professional skills, familiarizes them with European work standards, enables the exchange of professional experience of students and teachers, and strengthens professional and key competences.
ZSE teachers have extensive experience in gastronomy and guest service, organization of competitions at the voivodship and international level, organization of workshops with employers and well-known chefs, conducting gastronomic classes in the field of Polish and regional cuisine and modern culinary techniques. Gastronomy teachers cooperated in the organization of EU projects in ZSE and with other schools as well as in pedagogical innovations with schools from Poland and the Czech Republic.
